Reading Light Conditions

If you are shooting in bright sun and then a cloud comes over and your shot goes low--how does the term "light down, sights down" apply?  Shouldn't it be light down, move sights up?

What sights would you be using?  If aperture front and rear, none...  You just made a wind-reading error.
