Teh farthest any of you have shot with a Whitworth
Feb 12th, 2010 at 8:39pm

Hello all,
I have a question for you Whitworth shooters, whether it be originals or repros: What is the furthest distance any of you have shot with your Whitworth Rifle and how accurate was it?
Thanks,
Dave

I've shot Whitworth to 1000 yards. Here in the UK we also have a match at 1200 yards where Whitworths are occasionally used. Well managed they can compete with other similar rifles of the period. Two Whitworths were used in last years World Long Range Championships.

I've shot my Whitworth out to 1200 yds. Whilst I was happy with the results I have a feeling (and its only a feeling) that the Whitworth is not as consistant out past 600 yds as a Rigby or a Metford.
