.451 Calibre Thomas Bissel Percussion Target Rifle. 35 1/2" tapered
octagonal heavy barrel rounded 11/16 at muzzle. Marked "Thos Bissell
- London". Finely border and scroll engraved lock marked "Tho's Bissell
London". Platinum plug. Finely engraved trigger guard, dolphin hammer
and breech tang. Breech crown engraved with a open winged bird. Chequered
metal butt plate and finely engraved on top tang. Very good walnut half
stock with cheek piece and tear drops behind lock. Excellent chequered
forewood and pistol grip. Horn fore-end nose cap. Action strong. White
metal round escutcheon with an engraved mythical Griffin. The Whitworth
type sights were made by Mike Neumann in Johannesburg in 1985 and the
graduation mark stem is German silver and has been dovetailed on. The
barrel has been rebrowned. The locks, trigger guard and hammer have
all their case colours. This rifle has been refurbished and is in Ex.WO&C.
