Description
MANCHESTER ORDNANCE & RIFLE CO., Whitworth, Long Range percussion
single barrel target rifle, ca. 1863, 451 cal. Overall we. 9-1/4 Ib.
36" heavy round steel barrel with excellent bore and most all the
original black finish. Patent breech with traces of original case color
has no rust or pitting, whatever. Superb Joseph Brazier lock. Straight
grain pistol-grip half stock with horn forend cap and pistol-grip cap
has sharp checkering and virtually all original finish. No provision
for ramrod which is proper. Complete,
highest quality sights including hooded, windage adjustable, foresight
with platinum vernier scale and interchangeable reticles. Rack and pinion
adjustable midbarrel sights out to 1200 yds. Adjustable vernier tang
sight with platinum inlaid vernier scales. Overall fine condition.
