List Rules

Discussion should stay on topic. This includes but is not limited to: small-bore muzzle loading rifles (eg. Whitworth, Metford, Rigby, 'Volunteer'), sights, moulds, loading, competition/range reports, wind and mirage. If you wish to discuss general blackpowder topics or cartridge rifles, there are many other lists that cater for these interest.

Posting of private adverts and wants is permitted, however, all subsequent sales discussion is expected to be carried out off-list by the interested parties. Commercial advertisers should contact the list manager before posting.

Information posted to this list is solely the opinion of the person doing the posting, and is not screened for safety issues. Use all such information with discretion, at your own risk.

Please make good use of the subject title of your message. If you follow a discussion which raises matters on a new topic, change the subject title. This will make discussions easier to follow for all.

I would also ask that proper quoting techniques be used. Always quote enough of the message to which you are replying to provide adequate context for your own comments. Always quote above, and reply below, interspersing comments as required. Do not quote the entire message to which you are replying unless this is absolutely necessary. (Note: It almost never will be). This will also allow better use of the search facility of the archives.

For those who receive the list in 'Digest Mode,' and who wish to reply to an earlier posting: DON'T QUOTE THE WHOLE DIGEST. The subject line should also be changed so that it is clear which message you are replying to.

Email attachments are not allowed and will be automatically removed if sent. A shared files area is available to members (see 'managing your subscription'). This may be used to upload files (eg. images or documents) via your browser for other members to view.
