Pedersoli Gibbs
Davide Pedersoli
& Co. manufactures a number of rifles that may appeal to the long
range muzzle loader. Primarily intended for the MLAIC
100m free rifle 'Whitworth' match, the 'Tryon Creedmoor' and 'Mortimer
Whitworth' models are both target rifles that have potential for use
out to 600 yards. As with the Spanish 'Creedmoor' rifle though, the
weight of these may make their use with large charges uncomfortable.
In addition, the target sights supplied will need replacing to cope
with the elevations required at longer ranges. In 2002, Pedersoli introduced
their 'Gibbs' rifle. This is a full match rifle with half stock and
pistol grip, and named after the well known Bristol gunmaker, George
Gibbs. Originally introduced in .40 calibre for the 100m market, Pedersoli
quickly responded to demand and introduced a .45 calibre version. This
rifle has gained a reputation of quality and accuracy, and 'out-of-the-box'
is equipped for long range shooting.
