Title: patched bullets
Post by hashett_jack on Nov 6th, 2007, 10:58pm

I have hear something about a special way to wrap the bullets with two rag lubed ribbons , forming a cross in the muzzle before ram the bullet.....Someone knows how to do it ??
I suppose bullets must be sized...

The cross patch really requires a false muzzle; the strips (or a specially shaped patch) are layed across grooves and over the muzzle. The bullet is then simple rammed home and the papers fold around it. This form of patching did not feature on British match rifles.

See Paper Patching (http://www.lrml.org/technical/ammunition/patching.htm) for more information.
