Hello all,
I have been out of ML shooting for some time, but am sort of drifting back that way, having grown tired of AKs, etc.. I was wondering, where can you find a repro Whitworth rifle? I know that Parker Hale quit making them (what a shame). Does anyone make them now adays? If so, who and what is the price range now? And who might carry them here in the states where I could order one?

I wish I had a Whitworth. I wish I knew someone that had one in good condition that might want to sell or trade it.

If you're looking for a Parker-Hale you might try advertising on the North-South Skirmish Association (http://www.n-ssa.org/phpbb/) forums; they have a sales and wants section and P-Hs do feature.

Euroarms still make With replicas , even barrel with Parker Hale markings ( I �ve hear that they�ve buyed Parker Hale and the barrels are currently manufactured in Italy in the same original way ) . But if you take a look at their catalog , when they offer PH marked rifle they clarify : "not available in USA " , so I think you can order an Euroarms of America barrel markings rifle...

Regarding reproduction Whitworth rifles: I was on the Dixie Gun Works web site within the last week and they list a "Dixie Whitworth" a "Pedersoli Whitworth: AND a "Parker-Hale Whitwoth". I'd certainly check there before I gave up.

Thanks y'all. I will have to check out Dixie Gunworks and Euroarms, etc.. Also, at one time someone was making a repro Kerr rifle. I can't remember who. I wonder if it repro Kerrs are still available?

Re. above posting, note that the "Pedersoli Whitworth" is NOT a hex. bored Joseph Whitworth rifle. This is a 'conventional' rifle marketed to those that shoot the MLAIC (http://www.mlaic.org) "Whitworth" match - all MLAIC events are named and Whitworth is the 100m free rifle match.

I am not aware of anyone having made a commercially available Kerr rifle. Outwardly the Kerr appears the same as many other small-bore military match rifles of the 1860s. Kerr rifling employed by the London Armoury Co. was of ratchet form and if I recall correctly gain twist. What made these popular in the UK was that the barrels were interchangebale with the Govt. Pattern 1853 Rifle Musket; the rifle which the Volunteers were armed with. The Parker-Hale (or equivalent) Volunteer model is a typical military match rifle although this has Henry rifling. It has a good track record for accuracy, particularly at mid-range (200-600 yards).
