Does anyone make a hexagonal tip for their cleaning rod for the .451 Whitworth rifle bore?

Various websights recommend using a tip of this configuration but availability remains unanswered.

Not everyone has a machine shop.

I have also requested dimensions to provide to my local machine shop,to date no response. �

HELP PLEASE and thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reference to Dyson's but their tip is cylindrical not a hexagonal head so the patch will not be a fit in the grooves and do a really good job of removing the fouling. There have been references to hex head jags on the http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/lrml/ but a query on that site for purchase or dimensions has seen no response.

FWIW, I'm not using a septagonal jag either in my Henry-rifled barrels, and I do seem to be able to get them clean... If round does the trick, no need to try and find something else.

My thanks for taking the time to respond.My limited reading on various bore configurations seems to make it clear that the primary reason for HMG not adopting the Whitworth in large numbers (and I own one of the P/63 models) is the issue of fouling and the need (or as a shooter I should say the requirement) to clean often was seen as a problem in the heat of battle. You are fortunate to have Henry rifling which was adopted and I am sure that the issue of not fouling was if not the primary focus for adopting this form of rifiling at least it may have been a consideration. My search as a newbie is based on how often the benefits of a hex jag seem to be remarked on from those who have seen a benefit. Again I refer to those who are long time shooters and participants of http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/lrml/
