Some questions about your Enfield Long range discipline :
Are you shooting with same powder meassures as usual in 50-100 mts ( 60 grains ) or more ? This question is about I have hear  that with biggests measures you can broke the hollow base , then the ball doesnt fly as it must...

Use you pure lead or mix ?

Paper patch or greased grooves ?

Are only allow to participate with Enfield guns or also Remington , Springfield , Oviedo or others ?

Thanks !!

I have been shooting with 75 grains of TPPH out to 600 yards. This is the UK proof house powder and is similar to Swiss No. 4. Some shooters have been using higher charges, and some have moulds modified to cast Minie bullets with a thicker than usual skirt to withstand higher charges. I cast grease grooved bullets using pure lead, from an RCBS Minie bullet mould with shallow base cavity. This is for an original 2-band 5-groove 1 in 48 twist Enfield. With this combination I won the MLAGB 600 yard Championship this year.

MLAGB matches are for Enfield rifles only. If you were to visit and wished to shoot another percussion military rifle then that would be OK, but you may not be eligible for any prizes!

BTW, see the article on Managing the Enfield at the start of this forum.
