Title: Please help identify this shotgun Post by Dgunroom on 07/10/06 at 10:59pm Hello, I recently picked up a percussion 16 bore side by side shotgun and am having a difficult time finding information on the maker.It has John Probin London on the locks, a damascus barrels with silver inlay, there is engraving and ornate inlay, and it has a very well figured piece of wood.Any help in finding information on this gun would be appreciated.

Title: Re: Please help identify this shotgun Post by Bill_Curtis on 07/11/06 at 8:09pm There were John Probins in both London and Birmingham.  It was common for many Birmingham guns to be marked "London" so details of the proof marks would help as would a picture of the gun to enable a more accurate estimate of dating.
