Title: Hello Post by Cpl.Parker on 07/31/06 at 9:51pm Greetings, I am new to this forum. I recently purchased a Westley Richards "Monkey Tail" Carbine and have been searching for information regarding it and it's cartridges. I followed a trail to this site and hope to benefit from it's members knowledge. Thanks Kevin |

Title: Re: Hello Post by Bill_Curtis on 08/01/06 at 9:33pm Attached are three parts of the Royal Laboratories Ammunition Plate which deals with the ammunition for the Westley Richards Monkey Tail Carbine as issued to the Yeomanry Cavalry for many years after the Regular Cavalry had adopted the Snider. You will note that the bullet is base banded and weighed 400 grains. I tried, without success, to 'stitch' these pictures together but have not yet mastered the technique. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v711/whitworth451/WRMTCartridge.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v711/whitworth451/WRMTCartridge2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v711/whitworth451/WRMTCartridge3.jpg |
