HBSA vintage Long-range shoot
Aug 4th, 2007, 6:57pm

At Bisley, 11th and 12th of August.  11th is practice day, 12th match day, shooting at 900 and 1,000 yds at Stickledown.  Any and all Breechloading BP match and military rifles can shoot, as long as they shoot BP.  No, I don't organize it  -I just happen to shoot it...  For more details, see the HBSA website http://www.hbsa.fsnet.co.uk/

It iwas indeed - even if I shot like sh*t...  Still I was shooting, and now I have to make my conclusions and come up with something better for next time!

What was the weather like? We had a glorious time at Bisley shooting for 3 days the weekend before. Unfortunatley the calendar has got rather full right now and though I would have liked to have competed in the HBSA shoot I wasn't available. In a little over a week we have the MLAGB National Short Range Champs and three weeks after that another MLAGB National Rifle Championships at 600, 900 and 1000 yds. Either side of that weekend are two more HBSA matches!

I might get to the Trafalgar Meeting in October and was toying with shooting both the ML and BL 900 yard matches. Weekend after that though I have two ML matches at 600yds. One for 'Free Rifle' and the other Whitworth rifles only. I can have some time off after that! Smiley

Tricky weather - not so much the wind itself, but conditions were continuously changing, with the wind sometimes switching 180 degrees while changing in intensity, and an on-and-off tailwind.  For the moment, I'll be trying to be there for the HBSA midrange match (23/09 I believe), and see if I can fit in some shooting before or after, if I can find some volunteers for a target...

I'll volunteer! As long as you pay for my flight there from Michigan USA! Grin
