I am new to LRML.
 
I am still waiting for a 45 Gibbs that should be home in a few weeks... I hope...
 
For now, I shoot round balls with a 54 Robinson with a Sharon barrel �(great...).
 
Just to get in mood...., I installed a USA 406 �Soule Type� Long Range Creedmoor on the tang:
 

 
with a USA 463 Professional Hadley style Eye Piece:
 

 
Beginner question:  
 
Here is what I see:
 

 
 
Is there too much of space between the front sight and the Eye piece ??
 
If I make a little angle change, it is quite difficult to see the real difference ( red line ).
 
Am I doeing it the wrong way ? �any suggestion would be very welcome. � I want to be real ready when I will meet miss Gibbs.

I can only confirm wat Davids says - the eye will automatically center front sight and target, and the additional light could actually be welcome... �Of course, the Hadley eyecup allows you to have some flexibility as to rear apertures, but it isn't a necessity.
BTW, don't you have a problem at short ranges with the rear sight? �Unless you front sight is mounted quite high.
