Pedersoli High Wall now arriving
May 19th, 2009 at 2:53pm

After two years delay this long awaited High Wall replica with single set trigger, match grade barrel and other features, is arriving at dealers in good quantities.
Calibers are 45-70, 45-90 and the remarkable "long chamber" 38-55 with 12:1 twist rifling.  The rifle is illustrated on the company web site at www.davidepedersoli.com .
Optional standard or fancy trigger guard is a free customer choice.

Using the special long cases supplied by Starline, the 500 and 1000 yards test program for the 38-55 gave exciting tight groups when using long heavy bullets in the 360 grain range which the 12;1 twist handles nicely.
Accuracy with the 45 caliber chambering is up to the usual Pedersoli match grade expectations.
The Pedersoli High Wall will be on exhibition at both the Quigley in June and the Raton National Matches in July.
This High Wall will be the prize gun given at Raton for the Target Rifle match drawing prize.

I will be looking to buy a Hiwall "Classic" in 38/55 in the near future mainly because of the fast twist barrel.

Their Creedmoor No.2 is also available in the same configuration and I'm a bit partial to the 1874 Sharps

Top to bottom - 45/90, 45/70, 50/70, 50/90 and 40/65 with 6x malcolm scope

Well, I took the plunge and bought a Ped Highwall Classic.

Just have to wait 6 weeks for the "Permit to Aquire" form the police

A friend had one, with satisfaction, in 38-55 for the past couple of years and recently sold it to another mutual friend. A few of us here do like that cartridge for short to midrange, and with the heavier bullet, the faster twist will stabilize, it should work well for you (as your smallbore!).

Just makes me angry when one already has 100+ rifles and they place you on a 28 day 'cooling off" period for each new one, including muzzleloaders.

From August 1, the law changes to require all firearms in your gun safe must be fitted with trigger locks, that is going to prove interesting with the highwall Cry Cry

Wallace.....The most important thing they can accomplish when they pass a new gun law is that they feel good doing it. If it works or not is unimportant.   cheers   Paul
