Greener Enfield

I am the current high bidder on what can be considered a typical 3rd model Birmingham Trade 1853 rifle musket ( looks to be all there with the exception of an incorrect ramrod and what appears to be a Swiss Vetterli sling). The odd thing about this one is that instead of the typical Tower lockplate marks this one is simply marked Greener. It does have the crown ( no VR) behind the hammer as well as the Birmingham proof and guage marks on the barrel. Has anyone seen this before and is there any record of Greener making 1853 rifle muskets and if so when? Is it possible that this could have been a contract piece for the American Civil War? I am familiar with the London gun market marking their guns with company names ( L. A. CO, Potts and Hunt, EP Bond) but other than the ocassional Issac Hollis and sons I have not seen any of the Birmingham Manufacturers mark the lockplates with thier name. Anyone have any ideas/info on this one? Anything would be greatly apperciated.

In closing I would like to add that I love the Enfield and all of its variations ( although they do have a bad habit of removeing all the excess cash in my wallet), and I have a very humble collection of them.
My enfield collection consists of:
1. Tower 1861 Birminham Trade 3rd model , Confederate JS anchor marked with lot number 5969 engraved on buttplate.

2. Tower 1861 Birmingham Trade 1858 Bar on the Band Short Rifle.

3. Tower 1857 British Issue 2nd model Musket

4. Birmingham ( C Lee manufacture) 3rd Model musket with incorrect Enfield 1864 Lockplate ( with Government issue marks) ** This is my restoration project I need a correct lock plate if anyone knows where I may find one**

5. If I am lucky enough to win the auction I will have a Greener marked 3rd Model.

Thankyou In advance for your time
Mike
