Ipswich gunmakers circa 1800

I am trying to gather information on the gunmaker Bales I think who had a shop on the cornhill approx where lloyds TSB is today. Any info on type of guns made would also be helpfull. Many thanks

You might want to go to  www.internetgunclub.com and register there, then go to there Historical Data base and look  Bales up.  Several entries there that may be of help.

George William Bales, son(?) of Henry (1781-1835).
Operated at Ipswich and Colchester.
15 Cornhill, Ipswich 1845-70
and 150 High Street, Colchester 1850-70
 
Henry worked 1814-30 in Cornhill, Ipswich.
