Percussion Caps, A4 size.

I cannot let pass unnoticed the fact that it is now a whole month since anyone contributed anything to this valuable site.
Where are you all ? Is this the death of curiosity ? or does everyone know everything already ?

I have not the time today but will shortly contribute some pictures of enormous percussion caps contrasted with a range of normal caps which I have come across in an old tin. They are labelled as being A4 as far as I can read. In the tin, there was also a huge nipple for that size of cap.

Watch this space (that is, if there is anyone out there, which is becoming increasingly difficult to imagine at this rate).

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the continuing support. It seems that many people in the past have registered to post a single question and seek a response. Looks like I will have to try and promote the forum a little more. Lots of people look in, but few at the moment are seeking answers to questions. Summer recess perhaps?

I for one look forward to seeing your postings re percussion caps.

Hi Bill,
Yes it is a bit quiet here, there certainly are people out there though & this is a highly regarded site.
I'd be most interested to see these huge caps, since I bought that large tin a few months ago I been quite interested in caps - so few seem to exist especially given that there were so many made.

Please be patient. Delays due to a variety of reasons, not least the foul weather which has put me off the natural light photography which I prefer to use.  I think there has been a flip in the Earth's polarity and that we may now expect Spring to be with us around the end of October.
