Enfield Whitworth
05/18/08 at 6:58am
I recently added an Enfield Whitworth to my collection which I'm very happy about. I pulled it apart this morning & took some pics. It has a steel barrel by Berger, dated 1/64. I'm curious as to the stock mark near the roundel, would that have been added after it was sold from service? I'm also curious about the breech stamp M1154 - does that have any meaning to anyone? I'm hoping it may be a clue to where this rifle went for its service life. Any comments & marking interpretations would be appreciated.
Adrian.
