Scholefield of London & Birmingham

I purchased a side by side double barrel shotgun with horseshoe design Damascus barrels. The gun is a work of art. It has the external double hammers and fine engraving. The wood has burl swirls and a great patina. The barrel is stamped Scholefield of London & Birmingham. I cant find any information about this. Most importantly, I can not find a retail value. Is there an expert that can appraise my lovely old gun?

The nearest I have on this is William Schofield of 36 Weamon Street, Birmingham from 1873 to 1882.  As a Birmingham hammer gun of the period the value is not very much unless it is in pristine condition and made by noted makers such as Westley Richards or Greener.  If it is in very nice condition and fully functional it might make a few hundred at auction.

Bill,
Thank you so much for confirming my beliefs. I didn't think the gun was of high value. Now I know.
Regards,
Neal
