That such medals survive in such good shape is often a suprise to me, but the associated ephemera is so much harder to find! Thanks for posting and fascinating stuff - do please post more.
 
The forum is pretty quite with a few regulars and many people ust dipping in when they want to gain information, then drifting off again.

This is a ribbon I own, got it off e-bay a few years ago, and a photo I found by L.A. Huffman of Lt. Partello, who was a member of the Dept. of Dakota team in 1881, the ribbons were made up by Capt Freeman of the Freeman report.
