Martini Henry target sights
03/01/05 at 7:42pm
I have seen pictures of target sights for the Martini Henry in which the sight base is anchored in part or wholly by the hinge block pin.
Who made these sights and where can I find one?

I'm not familiar with these sights, but try emailing
Jim Hallam
at the Classic Gun Co here in the UK. He may be able to advise.

Dave,
Here's one version:
And another:
What I would like most to find is a base. I'll find a leaf to put in it.
Here's a look at the leaf in the bottom sight. If any one can identif where that leaf came from, I would appreciate it also.

All I can offer is that in a copy of The Midland Gun Co catlogue of aprox 1938/9 is shown a sight mounted on the axis pin for converted Martinis called a No 3a priced at 22/6 +4/- for a six hole eyepiece (aprox 1.35p) TJ.

Could TJShooter (or anyone else!) provide a photo of the Midland sight, or any other variations on the theme? I am attempting to make some missing bits for one of these sights and a picture would be really helpful.
Fred.

I found another of these and this is now mine.
It's marked Parker Hale. Anybody know anything about this sight? Does it have a model number?
