Very interesting, so it's just possible that this may just have been the Victorian equivalent of what we we would now call a rail "Super Saver Ticket" for a trip to London and the price of a show included. Although our Volunteer would only get a 10 practise rather than a show! I did wonder, and I think Bills post might bear it out, if production of the card might have been a useful "marshalling" tool given the number of shooter in camp at that period.
