Hi Bill, Thanks for replying. I think it is most likely a volunteer rod then, perhaps it is correct after all to the C & T, I rather hope so. One in 600 sounds like a long shot indeed, Dyson on his website says that he make these from an original Whitworth rod that he has, is this by chance the one that you refer to? I should have remembered that the P/62 & P/63 Whitworth's had a seperate cleaning jag anyway. I am unable to answer your question exactly about my rammer's length, as I have only recorded the barrel at 33.5 inches, so I assume that it is 33 inches long but am away from home at present & can't double check.
