A new blog about long range muzzle loading (LRML) has been launched. The author has started documenting his trip through LRML. Interestingly he is also pursuing this with a military match style rifle fitted with a Kerr barrel. Training, tuning and technique are planned to be covered, along with match reports.
Italian gunmaker Davide Pedersoli & Co. are planning to introduce a reproduction of Joseph Whitworth’s hexagonally bored muzzle loading rifle. Balázs Németh of the ‘capandball’ youtube channel gives a preview of this rifle.
Muzzle Blasts magazine has reported that long range rifles will fill the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA) Education Building Exhibit Hall for the Spring National Shoot in Friendship, Indiana. The report notes that there was a similar well received exhibit fifteen years ago that the NMLRA museum hosted.

Mid Atlantic Regional Black Powder Championship, 28 - 29 March 2015. U.S. Marine Corps Base, Quantico. Single shot muzzle loading or breech loading black powder rifles with prone and three position matches at 200, 300 and 600 yards.
The United States International Muzzle Loading National Match is to be held 17-19 April 2015 at Camp Butner, North Carolina, USA, and is for any shooter who wishes to attend. The course of fire is 300, 500, 600 yards (mid-range), 900 and 1,000 yards (long range).
This year’s LRML match at Oak Ridge, TN, USA, will be held 27-29 March 2015. This match is a ORSA sponsored Long-Range Muzzle Loading Match using traditional long-range muzzle loading rifles of the mid – late 1800’s.
